Add to that Calyrex’s ability and one manual Energy attachment, and you are essentially attaching three Psychic Energies per turn. Training Court lets you pull used Energy cards from your discard pile each turn. Since you’re discarding Energy with Alcremie’s attack, you need a way to fetch that Energy back. With how well these two synergize with each other and a few of your Item cards, it doesn’t matter which of the two you get in your opening hand and start off the match with. Shadow Rider Calyrex VMAX’s Max Geist does 30 more damage for each Psychic Energy attached to all of your Pokemon, while Alcremie VMAX’s G-Max Whisk lets you discard Psychic Energy from your Pokemon, dealing 60 damage for each Energy you discarded. Alcremie VMAXĪlcremie VMAX is an older card and was barely used in the 2020/21 format, but it seems like its release was mistimed because it has the perfect spot in this deck. While Calyrex is weak against Dark types (which is why Eternatus can be a big threat), Alcremie is weak against Steel types, and there aren’t many of them in the meta right now.
